So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them."-- Numbers 6

· Congratulations to Anthony Smith, 8th grader at OLPH School who did a great job at Lower East Tennessee Junior Clinic Band on Saturday, December 4! There were three bands with approximately 60 students each; a seventh grade band, and two levels of bands, blue and red, for eighth and ninth grades. This year Anthony was first chair in the red band, which is the second band from the top. Each band took six tuba players; approximately 40 7th-9th grade tuba students from our district tried out. Thank you in advance for helping the OLPH community show Christ's love to several families in need. May you have a peaceful, blessed holiday season. If you have any questions please contact Kim Thomas at 423-645-2194 or Tracie Blakely at 423-309-7188.

· Holiday bakers take note! Notre Dame Fighting Irish Band is selling a variety of nuts again this year. Available for $8.00 per bag are pecans (jumbo halves or chopped), almonds (whole or sliced), cashews (whole salted), and English walnuts. See Mrs. Curtiss in the cafeteria if you would like to purchase some or email her at olphcafe@catholicweb.com.

· The "Hats on Day" fundraiser was a huge success! $1,000.00 was raised for The Foundation for Children with Cancer. A variety of hats was worn by the OLPH students, faculty, and staff. Our honoree, Amanda Swartout, was able to join us that day.

SPORTS: Booster Club meeting, Basketball sign ups, Ooltewah Christmas Parade

· The next Booster Club meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, December 13 at 6:30 P.M. in the school library. Please mark your calendars now to attend. The Booster Club looks forward to serving the OLPH sports community. There are several OLPH "spirit items" (t-shirts, towels, stadium seats, water bottles and koozies), which will be available for sale during the Book Fair. Go Rams!

· The sign up deadline for basketball has been extended to Monday, December 6, at noon. We have enough interest to form the following teams: 5th boys, and 7/8 girls combined, possibly separately. Because of OLPH's history of successful basketball teams, we want to give the students this last opportunity to turn in the "sign up" form. If you have questions, please contact Coach Todd Close at tclose1717@bellsouth.net.

· The OLPH football team will represent MAKUS in the Ooltewah Christmas Parade (Little Debbie Parkway). The parade is on Sunday, December 3, and begins at 3:00. Details and further instructions are available at www.olphfootball.com.
