CHANGE FOR A CHANGE: Our school Lenten project is "change for a change." We are asking children to bring in their spare change to Religion Class. Each Religion room will have a jar to fill with change for "Food for the Poor." Our goal is to fill all the jars to their tops with change and prayers to help others. We will collect the money during Lent; please bring in your change by Holy Thursday, April 9. The virtues for March are "faith" and "trust". We trust that you will help us with this project and watch our faith grow. As Jesus told us, "This is my commandment: love one another as I love you." John 15:12
7th Grade Girl Scout Service Project Food Drive for Craniofacial Camp March 14th through March 31st -- The 7th Grade OLPH Troop #67 is helping at Camp Adahi this year at the Craniofacial Camp Event scheduled for April 24-26. The Craniofacial Camp needs snack donations for this years event. Troop #67 has taken on the challenge of organizing a food drive for this wonderful organization who provides a unique opportunity for children who have had facial reconstructive surgery. Parents of these children share and learn from each other while their children play without any stares or restrictions. The camp is free to participants; and therefore, relies entirely on donations and community service to operate. We would like to request particular items from different grades to make sure we get the correct quantities of each:
- Kindergarten -- Juice/Drink boxes
- 1st Grade -- Box of Little Debbie Snack Cakes
- 2nd Grade -- Lays Thin Plain Potato Chips - big bag or individual serving bags
- 3rd Grade -- Cheese Puffs (Soft, not crunchy) - big bag or individual serving bags
- 4th Grade -- Applesauce - individual serving pack
- 5th Grade -- Pudding - individual serving pack
- 6th Grade -- Cereal - big box or individual serving boxes
- 7th Grade -- Popcorn (pre-popped)
- 8th Grade -- Pretzels and/or Animal Crackers
- Any donation is greatly appreciated. We need all donations by Tuesday, March 31st. Items can be placed in the big white boxes located in each building. Thank you so much for your generosity and your continued support of our community as a whole. Any questions can be directed to Dawn Signiski at 706-764-6533 or dsigniski@gmail.com or Linda Lee at lindaflee@comcast.net.
OLPH FOOD DRIVE: The food theme for the month of April is "drinks" - instant tea, powdered drink mixes, etc. The OLPH 3rd grade Brownie troop will gather the donations from the boxes in each school building, and stock the OLPH and Ladies of Charity food pantries.
