who want their portrait retaken from the September 17 portrait day. Also,
students who were absent on September 17, or enrolled at OLPH after that day,

Retro
Day--Throughout October, our students have been learning about and
celebrating the 75 years of OLPH's existence. To understand the students of
yesterday, each grade level took a decade to research and share. On Wednesday,
October 31st, we will be culminating our month of studies with "Retro
Day." The students and staff may come to school dressed to represent their
decade. At 9:45 all classes will meet in the gymnasium to present and share
some of their learning of what the students of OLPH Past experienced. Parents
are welcome to attend the 9:45 assembly.
·
Yard
Sale--The 8th grade will be putting on a yard sale to raise
money for their Washington, D.C. trip in the spring. The yard sale will be held
Saturday, November 3, in the church parking lot. If you would like to donate items
for the sale, they may be dropped off in the gym on Friday, November 2, at 8:00
A.M. or 3:20 P.M. All questions about
the Yard Sale are to be addressed to Kat Green at 423-718-2690.

Priesthood
Sunday--A note from The Most Reverend Richard F. Bishop Stika, Bishop of Knoxville--Please join me on this special day of
October 28, 2012, Priesthood Sunday, in praying for our priests, in praising
God for their fidelity and their generosity. As your bishop I urge you to make
your appreciation for your parish priest known. A simple note, a smile or a
phone call to assure him of your loving care and gratitude for his presence in
the life of your local church will go a long way to serve the greater good of
our wonderful and growing Catholic Church.
·
Scrip
Sunday--Starting your Christmas
shopping? Sunday, November 4, and every first Sunday of the month will be "Scrip Sunday." Scrip cards will
be available for purchase after all weekend Masses in Holy Family Hall.
Shopping with Scrip supports OLPH School without any fundraising….it doesn't
get any better than that! All you have to do is purchase your favorite
retailers' Scrip cards at face value and use them in place of cash, checks, or
credit cards, for purchases you were going to make any way. The retailers send
us a cash discount and we split the profits with you 50/50. Purchase Scrip gift
cards for ALL your shopping needs- gas,
groceries, gifts, dining out, home improvements, etc.--come by our table after
Mass to shop from inventory. If you want to get started placing orders online
and need help, contact Cissy West at cwest@catholicweb.com
