4. Early Mass Time to Change
Beginning on November 29th. Attendance at certain Masses has also been
growing beyond our seating capacity and parking resources. This is a "good problem" to
have. After carefully reviewing our
options and the scheduling needs of PSR(Parish School of Religion) and
Confirmation classes, and, also, having consulted with many of you already
about a change in the Sunday Mass schedule, we will make a change in the time
of 7:30 A.M. Mass by only 30 minutes. The early Mass on Sunday will now start
at 8:00 A.M. Thank you for helping to
make this small change in our schedule of Masses. It is my hope that this minor change will
help to distribute the numbers of those in attendance at Sunday Masses. Your understanding is most appreciated. If you have family or friends who visit from
out-of-town I ask that you let them know of our new Mass schedule.
5. Current
middle school students (6th, 7th, and 8th
grade) of OLPH and St. Jude only are invited to a Christmas dance on Saturday,
December 5 from 7-10 PM. This dance will be held at the Knights of
Columbus Hall at 313 Sylvan Street, Chattanooga, TN 37405. Entry fee of $10
entitles you to dancing to hit music by DJ April Eberly, beverages and light
snacks. No outside food or drinks are allowed with the exception of students
with food allergies. Wear your Christmas character costume or tacky sweater.
Examples: Elf, Candy Cane, Reindeer or Santa. Prize for best costume and
sweater will be awarded. Be creative! (In
accordance with Catholic School dress policy, modest attire is required for entry into the
dance). We are requesting that all
students be considerate with their cell phone use and respect their fellow
classmates. Anyone who is taking pictures or recording others without
permission will have their device taken away and returned to a parent at the
end of the dance.
For the safety of the
students, parents or guardians must drop off and pick up their students at the
door. No students from other schools will be admitted to the dance.
