SPORTS: Winter sports pictures by Lifetouch, Basketball
· Winter sports (basketball, and cheerleading) pictures will be taken by Lifetouch on Tuesday, February 8, starting at 8:15 A.M. This is the second reschedule due to snow days. Boys and girls in grades 5th-8th who are on the basketball teams and cheerleading squad were given picture order envelopes. Orders are pre-paid, with the check made payable to Lifetouch. Additional order envelopes are available in the school office. Basketball players and cheerleaders are to bring their uniforms to school to change into for the pictures. · Basketball Season at OLPH is underway. We have five teams competing in our ISC (Independent School Conference) this year--5th grade boys (5B), 7th grade girls (7G), 7th grade boys (7B), 8th grade girls (8G), and 8th grade boys (8B). Sunday, January 30: Kick-off
· Attend 10:00 AM. Mass at OLPH Church. Students will serve as readers, altar servers, gift bearers and choir members. Teachers will serve as Eucharistic Ministers. Students from St. Stephens Parish, St. Therese and Sts. Peter and Paul will wear their school uniforms to a designated mass and have an active role in specified Mass in their parish. OLPH banners will be used at each of the masses.

· Service Learning/Community Outreach: There will be a Community Outreach presentation for all students at 9:30 AM in the school gym. · Language Art Department will have students write on index cards "What My Catholic Education Means to Me" and then display these index cards on butcher paper in school cafeteria.
· Home & School will provide a "special treat" for students today.
Wednesday, February 2: Nation Day
· Mayor Brent Lambert of East Ridge will read and give Proclamation to OLPH School @ 9:30 AM in the school gym. The Proclamation will be presented on January 27th at the East Ridge City Hall Council meeting. The 8th grade class officers and any other parents or students are invited to attend this Council Meeting.
· Spiritual Pep Rally at 1:30 PM in the gym. Bishop Stika will be our guest and we will ask him to recognize and/or bless the 2nd graders at the end of the Spiritual Pep Rally as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Thursday, February 3rd.
· OLPH will host a celebration for all the faculty and staff from OLPH, NDHS & St. Jude Schools. Bishop Stika will attend this celebration and start us off with prayer and end with closing remarks. Fr. Mike Sweeney (Blessed Sacrament Parish) will be guest speaker. OLPH Home and School will serve and provide a light meal. Celebration starts at 3:30 PM.
Thursday, February 3: Vocations Day
· Sister Mary Evelyn Potts, Director of Mission and Catholic Identity at Notre Dame High School will talk to students in grades K-4 at 1:45 PM and students in grades 5-8 at 2:20 PM in the church.
· Pray the rosary in church after vocations talk.
· Conclude the "Saint Contest" after rosary.
Friday, February 4: Faculty, Staff and Volunteer
· First Friday Mass, 8:15.
· Brunch for volunteers after Mass in the school cafeteria. Teachers will provide brunch. Dr. Morgan will be visiting and speak to volunteers.
· Volleyball game: 8th grade students vs. teachers at 2:20 PM (8th grade parents coordinate)
