CRS Rice
Bowl--Growing Food in Burkina Faso--In the small West African nation
of Burkina Faso, 80% of the population are farmers. Frequent droughts make it
difficult to produce enough food for the entire year. Often, farmers can only
grow enough to feed their families for seven months. The rest of the year is
called "the hungry season." This week, we pray for families in
Burkina Faso and give to CRS Rice Bowl to help small-scale farmers.
·
Jump Rope
for Heart--Students in grades Kindergarten through 4th have
started participating in "Jump Rope for Heart" during their Physical
Education class time. The event benefits the American Heart Association. Online
registration is done at www.heart.org/jump
. Students were given information/sponsorship forms; additional forms are
available in the school office. The last
day to turn in this form and money is Friday, March 15. Thank you for
supporting this worthy cause.

Yearbook
information--Advertisements:
o Are
you a local business owner, or do you know a local business owner who would
benefit from an advertisement in the OLPH yearbook? We need your support. For several years our school has published a
yearbook to preserve school memories. To help create a yearbook at a price that
all families can afford, we count on support from local business through
advertising. Ads range in price from $15 for business card size to $100 for a
full page. Ad forms are available in the school office. Please email Carleen
Evans at bigorange@catholicweb.com
or phone her at 423-622-1481 for more information. Deadline for purchasing ads is March 27, 2013.
