BAND STUDENTS AND PARENTS, MARK YOUR CALENDARS: A meeting for middle school band students and their parents will be held on Thursday, February 26, at 5:30 PM, in the Notre Dame High School band room. SPRING SPORTS UPDATE--Fifth through eighth grade students interested in participating in spring sports (tennis, lacrosse, track, golf), need to turn in their Sports Sign-Up Sheet along with payment ($60.00 per student, per sport) by February 12, 2009, to Coach Todd Close. This information is needed to determine schedules. Anyone interested in coaching can contact Coach Close at 622-1481 or tclose1717@bellsouth.net. All coaches must be Virtus trained.

The 8th grade class is selling sodas and POWERade drinks as part of their fundraising effort for their class trip to Washington, D.C. The sale began February 2 and continues through February 13. The coke products are $19.00 a case; POWERade products are $20.00 a case. This is 79 cents for a 20 ounce soda or 83 cents for a 20 ounce POWERade! What a bargain! Order forms are available in the school office. Delivery date is just in time for our Home and School meeting on February 25. If you have questions, call Beth Cromer at 423-987-9957.

TUITION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR CATHOLIC FAMILIES WHOSE CHILDREN ATTEND OLPH SCHOOL: Tuition assistance packets for OLPH Parish families for the school year of 2009-2010 are available to be picked up in the parish office. This packet should be picked up no later than March 2, 2009. The packet must be completed and returned NO LATER than March 24th to Therese Hughes at Catholic Charities. She will then contact you to schedule an appointment. An interview must take place with Ms. Hughes prior to April 16, 2009. Tuition assistance is based on financial need. If you are registered at another parish besides OLPH with a child or children attending OLPH School and are in need of financial assistance, a tuition packet may be picked up from Theresa Dedmon at the OLPH School office.

Parents, mark your calendars! St. Patrick's Irish Ball sponsored by Notre Dame High School will be held Saturday, March 14, from 7 to 11:30 PM. The Ball will be at the National Guard Armory, located at 1801 Holtzclaw in Chattanooga. Enjoy dinner, dancing and a silent auction. Dress attire will be cocktail-casual. Tickets are $40 per person in advance, or $45 per person at the door. Go to www.myndhs.com for more information. PUBLIX SHOPPING CARDS -- Remember to use your Publix, Bi-Lo, or Food Lion cards every time you shop. One percent of your cost of purchases will be donated to OLPH School. Publix cards are available in the back of the church and the school office; Bi-Lo Barcodes and Food Lion card registration forms are also available.

OLPH Food Drive: Please help the 3rd grade Brownie troop gather food for the OLPH and Ladies of Charity food pantries. The food theme for February is "dessert mixes" - cookies, cakes, muffins, etc. Boxes are located in the entryway of each school building. Different food themes will be announced each month. Also, a reminder the OLPH Church "Good Samaritan" food drive is the first Sunday of every month.
