Recognition, Pictures by Lifetouch

Student
Recognition--Congratulations to Cayci Holt, for her appearance in the play "Stellaluna",
held at the Chattanooga Youth Theatre Center. Cayci is playing the part of the
title character, Stellaluna, a fruit bat who has to live with birds after
getting separated from her family as a baby and has to adapt to their way of
life. Shows are May 4-20; Friday nights at 7:30 P.M., and Saturdays and Sundays
at 2:30 P.M., with a 7:30 P.M. show on Saturday, May 19. Break a leg, Cayci!!

by Lifetouch--Lifetouch Studios took individual student portraits on
Monday, April 23. Portrait packages will be sent home with students in
approximately three weeks--these packages are either purchased by
the parent (checks made to Lifetouch), or returned to the school by May 21st.

Applications for 2012-2013

Band
Concert--The Chattanooga Area Catholic Schools Band Spring Concert will be
held at Notre Dame High School on Tuesday, May 8, at 7:00 P.M. All OLPH, St.
Jude, and Notre Dame Bands will be playing.

OLPH
Yearbook--Orders are now being taken for the 2011-2012 school year OLPH
Yearbook. The cost of the yearbook is $30
if paid before May 18, and $35 if
paid after May 18. Yearbooks are expected to be delivered in time for
Registration Day, Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Order forms are available in the school office.

Ram Run
2012--We're gearing up for this
year's Ram run on October 13. As you know, this is the school's biggest
fundraiser, and last year we raised close to $9,000. This year we're hoping to
exceed $10,000, but we need your help! If you own a business or work for a
company that might be interested in being a sponsor this year, please email

details on how to participate.

PreK Open
House--On Sunday, May 20th, after the 10:00 A.M. Mass, there
will be an Open House for prospective families who are interested in the OLPH
PreK (4 year old) Program. Jessica Heffern, PreK teacher, will be available to
talk about the program, give a tour, and answer questions. If you would like an
application packet or more information about the PreK Program please contact

Golf
News--Congratulations to the OLPH Golf Team!! They placed 3rd in
the end of the season Tournament on Monday, April 30. Gehrig Johnson shot an
impressive 39, which was the second best score of the day! Good job, team, for
finishing out the season strong.

Art Camp--Mrs. Meinert will be conducting Summer Art Camps during the
following times:

Rising 3rd-5th graders,
July 2 - 6, 9:00 A.M. to Noon, $100 per student

Rising 6th-8th graders,
July 9 - 13, 9:00 A.M. to Noon, $100 per student

Football--The
OLPH Football Camp and Skills Clinic is set for June 11-15, 9:00 A.M.-Noon. The camp is for rising 2nd
through 8th graders. Camp includes top flight football instruction
and life skill lessons. Camp shirt and daily snack included. Registration forms
available from the school office.

Stepping
up to Kindergarten--Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Get a head start
with this "Stepping-Up" camp. The theme for the week is Summer Fun! Children will enjoy crafts,
language arts, math, religion, science, and social studies activities. This
camp will provide many hands-on classroom experiences as an introduction to the
kindergarten environment. The children will enjoy recess and snack too! WOW!

Volleyball--Join
Mrs. Nicole Tinney for volleyball camp during the week of July 23rd.
Camp will cover fundamental skills as well as team strategies and
sportsmanship. Participants will leave camp with a greater understanding of how
the game is played and how each skill impacts the game. All players should
bring a water bottle and knee pads.
