The Parish Stewardship Appeal Weekend will be held the weekend
of October 12-13. The letter and forms
were mailed to all registered parishioners last week. They will be collected at Mass the weekend of
October 12-13 or they can be mailed in to the parish office. If you did not receive a letter and form they
will be available at Mass.
Parents we want to remind you, that if your child is ill he or
she needs to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.

SCHOOL NEWS: Ram Run,
Oktoberfest, ChattiGras, Home and School Meeting, Garage Sale, Speech and
Hearing, Middle School Dance, Virtus Training, Trunk or Treat, Technology
Committee and Ram Hoodie Sale
Save the date, Saturday, October 19th for the Oktoberfest Ram Run!!! The 5K
will begin at 8 A.M and the 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk will begin at 8:05
A.M. in front of the First Tennessee Pavilion. If you want to
check out the course or register online, you can do that NOW by
going to www.oktoberfestramrun.com. After the races, don't
forget you can stroll through the Chattanooga Market looking for special treats
and handcrafted goods!
OLPH
School will also be staffing a bratwurst
booth at the Chattanooga Market all day Saturday and Sunday, so please find
our booth and treat yourself to the BEST brat at the fest! This is
our school's biggest fundraiser, and we really hope that you will be
there!!! If you have any questions, need more information

ChattiGras
2014, a Chattanooga-style Mardi Gras celebration sponsored by our Catholic
Schools of Chattanooga, will be held on Saturday, February 15th at
the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center.

Join
us for the Home and School Meeting on Wednesday, October 9th
at 6:00 P.M. in the gym. Our guest
speaker will be Scott Barker, the FBI Coordinator for the Knoxville Division of
Crimes Against Children. He will speak on internet safety. This is an
information session is for parents and other adults. It is not recommended for children. Children who come that evening should be
taken to the cafeteria, where the 8th grade students along with
adults will be entertaining and supervising them. Pizza will be provided.
Parents,
while doing your fall cleaning, please consider donating your unwanted
bric-a-brac, gently used items, and no longer worn clean clothing to the 8th
grade garage sale. This year's event is
Saturday, November 9th and all the proceeds will go toward the class
trip to Washington. For more information

Speech and Hearing screenings
will be offered on November 12, 2013 at OLPH during the school day. If you are interested; or your child's
teacher has concerns, please take advantage of this opportunity. It is strongly recommended that Pre-K and
Kindergarten students be screened, if he or she has not been screened within
the past year. The cost is $20.00.
Checks need to be payable to, The Speech and Hearing Center. Your child's teacher has the necessary forms.
OLPH Middle School Dance--
Halloween themed dance will be held on Saturday, October 12th, from
7:00-10:00 P.M. for only OLPH and St. Jude students. The dance will be held at the Knights of
Columbus Hall Council #610, 313 Sylvan Street, Chattanooga, TN 37405. Entry fee of $10 entitles you to dancing to
hit music by DJ April Eberly, beverages, snacks and a chance to win an iTunes
gift card. Come dressed in costume for a
chance to win another iTunes gift card. (Costumes must be school appropriate
with zero tolerance for short, shorts and dangerous accessories. Girls should wear shorts or leggings under
dress costumes.) Don't miss all the fun.
There
is a virtus training session scheduled for Monday, October 14th
6:00-9:00 P.M. in the PLC.
Halloween
will be here soon, and we are getting ready for Trunk or Treat on Saturday,
October 26th. We are asking
parents to donate a bag of candy and/or a pumpkin for this event.
The
Technology committee would like to send an open invitation for parent, student
and teacher volunteers to be a part of our review, study and recommendations
for up grading the technology available to our students at OLPH. Anyone interested please send an email and

be after fall break.
OLPH
Navy Ram Hoodie Sale -The 8th grade class are taking orders for OLPH
Navy Ram Hoodies. The net proceeds will benefit their trip to Washington, DC. The cost of the hoodies
is $18 for youth
sizes and $20 for adult sizes. Orders will be
collected from Monday, October 7th thru Thursday, October 17th.
These will the delivered to the classroom when we return from Fall Break.
No additional hoodies will be bought and sold after the cut-off date so order
yours today. This is an 8Th
grade fundraiser.
SPORTS NEWS: Football and
Soccer
The Catholic Rams were
victorious in Choo Choo Bowl XXII, defeating Normal Park 28-14. The team played in their new
"Catholic" jersey in front of a packed house. It was a great afternoon of football and
fellowship. The game was played in
memory of Coach Don Waters. Touchdowns
were scored by, TJ McGhee, Grant Speer and Alex Spraker. Mikel Lingrosso led the defense with 7 solo
tackles, while Daniel Hodges scored a defensive touchdown. Curtis Dearing, Sam Stovall and Lucas Eberle
anchored the line. The cheerleaders put
on a great half-time show, and Julia Raabe provided a stirring rendition of the
National Anthem. The U12 Catholic Rams
defeated McCallie in double overtime, 14-8.
The Rams have won four of their last 5 games. Go Rams!
Congratulations to the
football team on their 36-16 win over TCPS last night in Charleston, Tn. The Rams completed a winning season. Go Rams!
The soccer season has
begun. Practice is on Mondays, Tuesdays
and Thursdays, 3:30- 5:00 P.M. Games
will begin at the end of the month.
