The virtue for the month of November is "faithfulness" (to God and you). Faith in Jesus is our belief that he came to die and rise to earn us a place in heaven. Faithfulness to Jesus is our eagerness to share that news, our desire to do what we promise, and our willingness to follow him. Theme mass: Tuesday, November 23, 8:15 A.M.

SCHOOL INFORMATION: Student feature, Open House (for parents of prospective KDG students), VIRTUS training, Inclement Weather Policy, St. Cecilia's Closet, St. Stephen Parish Golden Jubilee

· Congratulations to Margaret Coles, a student in Mr. Galik's 6th grade class. Margaret recently earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award along with her Northwest Georgia Scout Troop 8213. The troop adopted the residents of Peachtree Estates Assisted Living Home in Dalton, GA. The girls made Valentine's cards, Easter gift baskets, and organized a number of game days with on/for over 40 residents. The troop used their "cookie money" to purchase some of the supplies. Good job, Margaret and Troop 8213!
· Open House for parents of prospective Kindergarten students (2011-2012 school year): If you are interested in sending your child to OLPH School for Kindergarten in the upcoming school year, please attend an Open House to be held on Thursday, November 11, at 9:00 A.M. in the school library. Kindly RSVP by Monday, November 9, by calling the OLPH School office at 423-622-1481, or email Teresa Hennen, Director of Admissions at Teresahennen@catholicweb.com
· VIRTUS: A VIRTUS training will be held at the OLPH School library on Monday, November 15 at 6:00 P.M. Register online at www.virtus.org. VIRTUS is a program mandated by the Diocese of Knoxville for all adults volunteering or working with children. This includes faculty, staff, substitute teachers, coaches, classroom volunteers and scout leaders.
· Inclement weather policy: In the event of inclement weather, parents/guardians will be notified through Parent Alert, the OLPH website, and ParentsWeb announcements. It is sometimes difficult to "get through" to the local TV stations, so please be aware that Parent Alert is the most accurate and expedient method of contacting OLPH parents/guardians. If you have a "missed call" on your cell phone from OLPH School, please listen to your voicemail before calling the school.
· St. Cecilia's Closet is our "gently used" uniform store, operated by the Creative Arts Guild. The Closet is in need of fleece jackets and vests, sweatshirts, pants, and PE uniforms. If your children have outgrown any OLPH uniforms, please consider donating them to St. Cecilia's Closet. Donation receipts for tax purposes are available in the school office. The Creative Arts Guild is very generous in providing funding for various art related activities, including art class, music, band, and art related field trips.
· Congratulations to St. Stephen Parish celebrating their Golden Jubilee this year. Several OLPH School students/families, faculty and staff are members of St. Stephen Parish.

FUND RAISING: Thanksgiving Food Drive, Chick-fil-A, 8th Grade hoodie sale

The food baskets will be assembled on Sunday, November 21 at 1:00 at the Knights of Columbus Council # 610 located at 313 Sylvan Street. If your family would like to help assemble the food baskets, contact Kathy Sumrell at ksumrell@catholicweb.com or 423-622-1481. Thank you for helping us help others.
