The OLPH Creative Arts
Guild will hold its final meeting of the school year on Monday, May 5th,
at 6:00 P.M. at the Longhorn Restaurant on Brainerd Road. This organization raises funds to support the
art and music programs within the school, as well as supplementing student
payments for art, music and drama-related field trips. We are in great need of new officers for the
upcoming 2014-2015 school year. If you
are interested in getting involved in this vital organization, please join us
at this meeting and/or contact Bob McPeak at rsmamm@epbfi.com.
Congratulations to Mrs. Bethune's 3rd grade families
for showing the greatest community spirit by supporting the Knights of Columbus Council 6099 Fish
Frys during Lent. Her students
will be enjoying a pizza party courtesy of the Knights.
Friday, May 16th, we will be having an OLPH Adult Social in the PLC
from 7:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. Come enjoy a
fun evening. Cost is free, but we do ask
that you bring an appetizer or dessert to share, along with whatever you wish
to drink. Child care will not be
provided so be sure to start looking for a babysitter now so you can join the
fun.
Annamarie Todd, a 5th grade student at OLPH, was
recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Her family has formed a team for the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation Walk to Cure Diabetes in order to raise money to help fight this
disease. As a service project, the 5th grade class is helping to
raise money for this cause to support Annamarie and her family. If you wish you may send in a donation (cash
or check made out to OLPH) next week or go on-line; http://www2.jdrf.org/site/TR?team id=3283 to make a
contribution. We will be collecting
money for one week only. If you are
unable to make a monetary contribution, please pray for a cure. Miracles happen!
Volunteer Brunch--All OLPH School
volunteers are cordially invited to an appreciation brunch on Wednesday, May 7,
following the 8:15 A.M. Mass. The brunch
will be held in the school cafeteria.
All volunteers who plan on attending should RSVP by Friday, May 2 to
Cissy West at 423-622-1481, or cwest@catholicweb.com.
Tuesday, May 6th
is National Appreciation Day.
Home and School will be providing a catered luncheon for all on staff on
Tuesday in the PLC and we need your help.
The staff loves being able to all eat together and socialize without
worrying about staggered lunch periods.
To make this happen, we need parent volunteers to watch classrooms from
11:30-12:30 next Tuesday so the Staff can eat together. Please e-mail Marina Delaney at delaneymarina@hotmail.com to volunteer and show
our awesome Teachers and Staff how much we appreciate all they do for our
children. Thank you, Home and School
You are cordially invited to attend a retirement reception for Mrs. McInturff and Mrs. Forrester
on Wednesday, May 7th at 6:00 P.M. in the OLPH School Gym. Cake and drinks will be served. All are welcome.
