Sunday, Oktoberfest, Sponsorships for Ram Run 2012, Nature's Place

Scrip
Sunday--This Sunday, September 2, and
every first Sunday of the month will be "Scrip Sunday." Scrip cards will be available for
purchase after all weekend Masses in Holy Family Hall. Shopping with Scrip
supports OLPH School without any fundraising--it doesn't get any better than
that! All you have to do is purchase your favorite retailers Scrip cards at
face value and use them in place of cash, checks, or credit cards for the
purchases you were going to make anyway. The retailers send us a cash discount
and we split the profits with you 50/50. Purchase Scrip gift cards for ALL your shopping needs. Gas,
groceries, gifts, dining out, home improvements--if you want to get started and

Oktoberfest--Be
sure to SAVE THE DATE for Saturday,
October 13th for the Oktoberfest Ram Run!! The one mile Family Fun
Run/Walk will begin at 8:30 A.M. and the 5K will begin at 9:00 A.M. The races will start in front of the First
Tennessee Pavilion. Registration forms will be sent home with OLPH students and
forms will be in the back of the church. (See
information below to register online and to become a sponsor!) After the
Run/Walk you can stroll through the Chattanooga Market for special treats and
handcrafted goods. OLPH School has the BEST
brat booth at the Chattanooga Market so please find our booth and buy a
brat! Oktoberfest is our school's biggest fundraiser, and we really hope that
you will be there!! If you have any questions, need more information, or want

for Ram Run 2012--Registration is NOW OPEN for this year's OLPH Ram Run on

The Ram Run Committee is still looking for sponsorships and in-kind donations,
such as food and snacks for the runners and door prizes. If you own a business
or work for a company that might be interested in donating this year, please

for details on how to participate. The deadline for sponsorships has been
extended to Friday, September 14.

Nature's
Place--Congratulations! Nature's Place, the outdoor classroom at OLPH
School is now a certified Nature Explore Classroom. We are now a part of a
growing national network of organizations that created effective outdoor
learning environments for children. This network will allow for idea-sharing,
peer support, and continuous learning and development for the students at OLPH
School.
SPORTS NEWS: Fall

Fall
sports--Come out and cheer on the OLPH Rams fall sports teams!!! Cross
Country, Football, and Volleyball teams have begun play. All games are posted
on the calendar part of the Friday Fanfare, on ParentsWeb, on our website
calendar and on our website under the heading "Athletics."

Football
news--The OLPH School football team is off and running. The team opened
with an impressive Jamboree at the Hixson "Border Wars". The Rams
earned victories over McMinn County and Red Bank, while settling for a tie
against East Ridge. Adams Robinson, Alan Ubas, and Tommy Kulik were standouts.
The Rams regular season began with a heartbreaking, last-second defeat, to
Grace Academy (22-20). The Rams played tough and had a touchdown called back.
Sam Stovall, Quinn Summers, and Rhys Robertson played well on both sides of the
ball.

Cross
Country news--The OLPH Cross Country team had their first meet on Tuesday,
August 28. All of the runners did an excellent job and had great finishes. We
don't have the official times yet but we want to congratulate them for a great
race!

Tennis
Camp--Mr. Eric Voges, who is one of the best tennis coaches of the
southeast, is offering tennis clinics this fall. He is generously donating some
of the proceeds to OLPH's tennis team. If you are interested you may contact
