SCHOOL NEWS: School Committee, CAG/St. Cecilia's Closet, Ram Run, Scrip News
·         School Committee--The OLPH School Committee is accepting applications for membership for the 2013-2014 school year. The purpose of the School Committee is to support the teaching mission of the Catholic Church by serving as a consultative body to the Parish and School administrators of OLPH School. Membership is open to parents of OLPH School students, alumni of OLPH School, and members of the OLPH Parish community. Applications and information can be picked up in the school office and will be considered if returned to the office prior to April 17, 2013.
·         CAG/St. Cecilia's Closet--Creative Arts Guild (CAG) is selling OLPH car magnets ($5) and blue OLPH cinch bags ($8). They are available in the Development Office--see Mrs. Cissy West. St. Cecilia's Closet has plenty of spring clothing (skorts and shorts may be worn beginning April 1), as well as First Holy Communion dresses and suits. St. Cecilia's Closet is open during school office hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 to 3:30.
·         Ram Run--SAVE THE DATE! This year's Ram Run will be Saturday, October 19, the opening day of the Chattanooga Market's Oktoberfest celebration. If you are interested in helping out with one of OLPH School's largest fundraisers (think PIP hours!) please contact Dawn McAbee at dvscavett@yahoo.com or 423-463-1780.
·         Scrip News--The weekend of April 13 and 14 will be Scrip Sunday. Gift cards for restaurants, gas, online purchases, department stores, and drug stores will be for sale in Holy Family Hall after all the masses. If we don't carry what you need, we probably can order it for you and have it to you within the week. All cards are sold at face value and a percentage of the sales comes back as a contribution to OLPH School. SPORTS NEWS:  Volleyball Open Gym, Adult Basketball
·         Volleyball Open Gym--OLPH Head Volleyball Coach Ted Hackett is offering "Volleyball Open Gym" for OLPH School 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls. This supervised free play will be every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 through the end of the school year, except for Tuesday, April 2 (Easter Break). If you have questions please contact Coach Hackett at hackettj@gmail.com .
·         Adult Basketball Open Gym--There will be an open gym for adults every Monday night from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M. This is an opportunity to come out and play a little recreational pick-up basketball with fellow OLPH parents. For more information contact Ted Hackett at hackettj@gmail.com .

For several years our school has published a yearbook to preserve school memories. To help create a yearbook at a price that all families can afford, we count on support from local business through advertising. Ads range in price from $15 for business card size to $100 for a full page. o   The yearbook committee is now taking orders for Public Display of Affection (PDA) ads for the 2012-2013 yearbook. Commemorate your special student(s) with an ad in the yearbook. What better way to remember kindergarten year, First Communion, and other events? Ads range in price from $15 for of a page to $100 for a full page ad. SPORTS NEWS:  Track update, OLPH Football Awards, Little Rams Basketball Clinic, Volleyball Open Gym, Adult Basketball
·         Track update--The OLPH Varsity track team had its first meet of the season Tuesday, March 19. Will Bordash wowed the crowd with a 5:31 mile. Nic Robinson, Hannah Ingle, and Rachel-Anne Scalla all posted personal bests in the mile. Sam Stovall placed first in the shot put and the 200 meter race. The 4 x 4 relay team of Adams Robinson, Luke Eckler, Rhys Robertson, and Will Bordash placed first in a close race. Emalyn San Miguel won the 100 meter and 400 meter races. All runners had a fabulous first showing!
·         OLPH Football Award Dinner--The OLPH Football Awards Dinner is set for Saturday, March 23, 6:00 P.M. at Erlanger Hospital (POB Dining Room). The dinner will be catered by O'Charley's and is for the OLPH School Middle School football team and football cheerleaders. Players are to wear coat and tie. Families and siblings are invited. Former Tulane football standout and current Court Judge Hollingsworth is the featured speaker. Go to www.olphfootball.com for additional details.
·         Little Rams Basketball Clinic--The OLPH Booster Club is sponsoring The Little Rams Basketball Clinic, a clinic designed to help young athletes begin to develop their basketball skills. This clinic is for boys and girls in grades 1 through 4 (students from our sister parishes are also invited), and it will be held for one more Saturday mornings--March 23rd, at the OLPH gym. Weekly participation is available for $15 per session, with the fee payable that day. Sign-up sheets are available in the school office and on our website, www.myolph.com  and on ParentsWeb under "Resource Documents."

·         CRS Rice Bowl--Fostering Community Banking in the Dominican Republic--CRS Rice Bowl invites us to learn about the Dominican Republic this week, where CRS helps women form savings and lending communities that help them save money and access small loans for new businesses. Pray for these women who have the courage to start their own businesses, and make a contribution to your Rice Bowl to support people working to provide a better livelihood for their families.

SCHOOL NEWS: Thank You, Lenten Fish Fry, Ram Run
·         Thank you--A very warm "thank you" from our kindergarteners and Ladies of Charity for your generous donations of clothing and shoes to their Greater Good Thrift Store during Catholic Schools Week.  Many hearts were warmed by your overwhelming response and kindness!
·         Lenten Fish Fry--Come out to join the parish family and show your support for the final Knights of Columbus Fish Fry being held at OLPH this Lenten season!  The fish fry will begin after the 5:30 Living Stations. $6 plates include baked or broiled fish, French fries, hush puppies, cheese quesadillas, slaw, dessert, and drinks. Half of the profits from these Lenten dinners will be donated to the OLPH Home and School Association.5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades are asked to provide desserts. Please bring the dessert with you to the Fish Fry!

SPORTS NEWS: Little Rams Basketball Clinic, Volleyball Open Gym. Adult Basketball
·         Little Rams Basketball Clinic--The OLPH Booster Club is sponsoring The Little Rams Basketball Clinic, a clinic designed to help young athletes begin to develop their basketball skills. This clinic is for boys and girls in grades 1 through 4 (students from our sister parishes are also invited), and it will be held for three more Saturday mornings in March (March 16, and 23), at the OLPH gym. The cost is $50 per child which covers four clinic sessions and a t-shirt. Weekly participation is also available for $15 per session, with the fee payable that day. Sign-up sheets are available in the school office and on our website, www.myolph.com  and on ParentsWeb under "Resource Documents."
