SCHOOL NEWS: Annual Choo Choo Fest, Volunteer Sign-up for Choo Choo Fest, Trunk or Treat, Used Uniforms and Home Campaign Update
1.      Mark your calendars for what promises to be another fun-filled Saturday for our OLPH families on Saturday, September 26th.  OLPH Home & School will be hosting our 2nd Annual Choo Choo Fall Fest which will kick off with the Grand Ram Tricycle Race at 9:30am, continue with a fun festival with games, face painting, dunk tank and activities to appeal to a wide range of ages and conclude with the Choo Choo Bowl XXV at 12:30pm.  This is going to be a fun Saturday which you won't want to miss!  If you are interested in more information, please email us at Rams.Home.and.School@gmail.com. It is not too late to sign-up! Forms available outside the school office.
2.      Calling all volunteers (earn some PIP hours). We need your help to make the upcoming Choo Choo Catholic Fall Fest a success. To make this a successful fundraiser for our school we will need a lot of participation. Please consider taking a shift or two throughout the day. We are using VolunteerSpot to organize our volunteers. Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:
1.  Go to http:vols.pt/66pLyT to see our sign-up on VolunteerSpot.
2.  Review the options listed and choose the spot(s) you like.
3.  Sign-up! It’s easy and you will NOT need to register and account or keep a password on VolunteerSpot.
VolunteerSpot does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact Marina Delaney at delaneymarina@hotmail.com and I can sign you up manually.
3.      Trunk or Treat will be October 24th--please email Jennifer Flowers at jenaell867@gmail.com for event information if interested in participating this year.
4.      ARE YOU ARE A CRAFTER? We have lots of uniform pieces that will soon be discarded. They are not in good enough shape for students to wear and represent our school, but sections of them may be made into doll clothes, pillow covers, etc. Use your imagination! If you are interested, please come and get them THIS WEEK (before 9/22). Pieces with our logo or plaid cannot be re-sold at Ladies of Charity, and will be sold as rags.
5.      We have begun to work on Home Campaign projects thanks to the support of all of our parishioners who pledged during the campaign! SPORTS NEWS
·        At 12:15 on September 26th join the "Ram Walk" - - the Catholic Rams football team will walk/jog through a human gauntlet of cheering Ram fans in the sidewalk area between the PLC and church.  This will be a great way to show your Catholic pride as the Rams prepare to take on Sale Creek in Choo Choo Bowl XXV.

We did the "Ram Walk" last year and it was a lot of fun for the players, cheerleaders, parents and students.  All enjoyed the camaraderie.  It has the makings of a great tradition. I hope many join.

·        The Catholic Football team continues to play great football.  Catholic is a cooperative OLPH/St. Jude middle school team. Recently the team moved to 7-0 with a strong victory over Sequatchie County.  The game had all the trappings of a great football setting - - a large and vocal crowd, under the lights, homecoming, band, etc.  It was a special evening.  The Sequatchie faithful know how to put on a middle school football game.   To make it a perfect night, the Catholic Rams won the game, 18-8.    Please make it out to a Catholic football game if you are able.  This is a very talented team.  The next home game is Choo Choo Bowl XXV on Saturday, September 26th.  The opponent is Sale Creek, and kick-off is 12:30.
