SCHOOL NEWS: OLPH License Plates, ChattiGras, Scrip Sales, Family Honor, Tuition Assistance, Church/Holy Family Hall, Annual Fund, Tacky Sweater Wednesday, Christmas Program and Breakfast w/ Santa

·        OLPH License Plates are now available in the school office for $5.00.
·        ChattiGras: February 14th 2015--Chattanooga's signature Mardi Gras Event.  Enjoy a wonderful Cajun buffet dinner, dancing to the fabulous party band, Love, Peace, and Happiness, live and silent auctions, and casino games.  Everyone who purchases tickets before January 1, 2015 will be eligible for a drawing to win a free night's stay that evening at the Chattanooga Marriott. Don't miss out!  Sponsors and auction items are still needed. For information on auction or sponsorship and to purchase tickets at $75 each, visit www.chattigras.com.
·        The last Scrip order before Christmas will be placed on and 16th.  If you have your Presto Pay account set up, you can continue to place orders for Scrip Now and print off gift certificates for all your holiday shopping.  A parent volunteer will be stationed just inside the main doors on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 7:45 A.M. - 8:15 A.M. to make shopping from Scrip inventory quick and easy.
·        St. Stephen's Catholic Church at 7111 Lee Hwy, Chattanooga, TN will be hosting a truly unique chastity program for parents and teens in 7th and 8th grade to come together to discuss life's most important issues.  The program is presented by Family Honor, Inc., and is called Real Love & Real Life.  It will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 8:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.  Deadline for registering is Friday, January 30, 2015.  Space is limited so register online soon at HYPERLINK, http://www.familyhonor.org. There is no charge for this program (though donations will be requested).
·        Tuition Assistance Packets for the 2015-2016 school year are due by December 19th.  Contact Chris Curtis at 423-624-4618, ext. 1026 at NDHS for more information.
·        Holy Family Hall is a part of the Church.  There is no food or drink allowed at any time in this area of the Church. The Church and Holy Family Hall are cleaned daily but, please be mindful and pick up after yourself. This area is intended as a place of prayer and quiet contemplation.  Use by groups must be scheduled through the Parish office.  It is not intended to be a waiting area for unattended children.  Any children not directly participating in an activity with an adult must go to aftercare until parent pick-up.
·       OLPH Catholic Annual Fund Campaign brochures will be sent out soon for the 2014/2015 school year.  Checks to OLPH Annul Fund may be mailed to OLPH School, or you may donate using you credit card through the school website at http://school.myolph.com/support/annualfund.cfm.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.  If you need more information about helping OLPH continue to be a "School of Excellence" contact Cissy West, director of Development @ 423-622-1481 or email cwest@catholicweb.com.
·       Wednesday, December 17th is an out of uniform day.  To continue our Christmas fun, students and staff can wear a fun or tacky sweater.
·       The students from Pre-K to 8th grade will present "A Special Christmas Celebration" on Thursday, December 18, at 6:00 P.M.  Please join us in the gym for the beloved OLPH School tradition.

·        The OLPH, St. Jude, and Notre Dame Band concert will be on Thursday, December 11th, at 7:00pm. The OLPH and St. Jude band will have a rehearsal on Tuesday, December 9th. The beginning band will rehearse from 6:00-7:00pm. The advanced band will be from 7:00-8:00pm. The rehearsals and performance will take place at Notre Dame. This is our only combined rehearsal before the performance. I need everyone in the Notre Dame Band room fifteen minutes prior to their rehearsal time for warm up and tune up. We will proceed to the stage together. This is the same routine we will do for the performance. The dress rehearsal will be on the stage. Dress for the rehearsal is casual. Dress for the performance is semi-formal.

·        Congratulations to our Geography Bee Winner and runners up!  Winner - William Meagher, 2nd Place - Bernard Lisy and 3rd place - Jackson Boettner.  Great job to all the participants!

·        Maker's Club big project this year is a 10 to 20 minute movie.   We will film, edit and show our movie as well as make it available for download and on you tube.  This project is a long and difficult one that will have many parts over the next several weeks. December pre-production: we will meet on the 9th and 16th. These meetings are for young people interested in writing the script, designing the props and working on learning to edit video. It is open to 5th grade and up. http://goo.gl/forms/I2FIoYJj46.

·        There will be a Soccer tournament this week unsure of the times and days but, will let you know as soon as they come available.
