Virtue for the Month of August: "Fruits of the Holy Spirit" "We live our virtues in the "Fruits of the Holy Spirit" (Galatians 5:22-23).  In the Bible we read about fruits of the Holy Spirit which God wants to grow in our lives.  These fruits are self-control, faithfulness, kindness, joy, peace, love, goodness, gentleness and patience.  The fruits of the Holy Spirit, are outward signs, that the Holy Spirit lives inside us.  Mary, the Mother of Jesus lived by the fruits of the Holy Spirit and allowed the Spirit to direct her life.

SCHOOL NEWS: Grand Ram/Fall Fest, Virtus Training, 8^th Grade Meeting and Makers Club

·         Save the date!  Mark your calendars for what promises to be a fun-filled Saturday for our OLPH families.  On Saturday, September 27^th, OLPH Home and School will be hosting our first Grand Ram Tricycle Race.   Following the race, our annual Choo Choo Catholic Football Game will be held, along with a new fall festival.  If you are interested in helping out please contact Kari Hudson at kariklemm@aol.com or 423-598-1969. Information will be going home with students this week.

·         OLPH will be having a Virtus training session on Monday, September 8^th at 6:00 P.M. Please check out our website for other hosting locations and time's.  To register go to www.virtus.org and click on registration.

·         There will be an 8^th grade meeting on Tuesday, August 26^th at 6:00 P.M. in Ms. Danielson's room.  This meeting will be a time to share and discuss information about events, trips, fund-raising, etc.  Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.

·         Makers Club Sign Up starts Monday, August 25^th.  There are 6 positions open for the Lego Makers program.  The program is for students in -2^nd grade.  To sign up please go to the website: http://olphmakersclub.blogspot.com/.

Let's give a Shout Out to the Catholic Football teams.  They just had another win this week over   TCPS 38-14.  GO RAMS!!!

We would like to thank Notre Dame for bringing over the Prospect Passes this week.  If you did not get one, please contact the school office.  The prospect pass will get your student into any Notre Dame athletic event for free.  Please join us tonight at NDHS for the Knox Catholic Game.  Game time is 7:30 P.M.

There will be an informational meeting for parents of students in grades 3-8 that are interested in running Cross Country.  We will meet Monday, August 18^th at 3:30 P.M. in Mrs. Ingle's room.

Volleyball season is here!  All middle school girls interested in playing volleyball should be in the gym afterschool Monday, August 18^th for our first practice.  An email went home to your parents.

There will be a coaches meeting on Monday, August 18^th at 5:00 P.M. in the gym.  This is for coaches of all OLPH athletic teams.
