·        OLPH has been collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans for the Ronald McDonald House for 14 years. The Ronald McDonald House uses the money from recycled aluminum tabs in many ways. The fund pays for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Children’s Hospital in Erlanger and Siskin Hospitals, "the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile", a school-based mobile medical clinic operating in Bradley and Polk Counties; "the RMHC Scholarship Program" which provides fifty, $1,000 freshman scholarships to area high school seniors; and "the Ronald McDonald House", which houses 500 families each year. It does not pay for medical services. How can you Help? Start popping your aluminum tabs. Place a baggie taped or hung in convenient spot, and drop the tab in when you pop a top. Unfortunately, not all tabs are aluminum; if it sticks to a magnet we cannot use it. Please check your tabs from soup cans and other cans-some are aluminum and can be used, others are steel and cannot. When the bag is full, bring it to school and drop it in the container in Mrs. Hetzler’s room.
